Additional Services

  • First Contact Physiotherapist

When a patient presents with any pain coming from joints, muscles, soft tissues, nerves, etc., a First Contact Physiotherapist uses their assessment and communication skills to diagnose Musculoskeletal problems. They will then provide guidance to manage patients’ symptoms. If symptoms persist, a patient’s condition worsens, or a pattern of pain and symptoms are not MSK related, they will direct or refer patients to the most appropriate department.

Please speak to our care navigation team to arrange an appointment for FCP.

  • Wellbeing Services

The Wellbeing Service for Worcester City PCN (WCPCN) is a team of Social Prescribers & Health and Wellbeing Coaches, who are available to help you with non-medical needs that are having an impact on your life and affecting your wellbeing.

Referrals can be made by any registered healthcare professional working within a practice or you can self refer via 01905 673859 (8.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday) or hwicb.worcestercityslwservices@nhs.net.

  • Podiatry

A Podiatrist in the Worcester City PCN diagnoses and treats foot, ankle, and lower leg problems. They handle issues like diabetic foot care, arthritis pain, sports injuries, and walking or balance difficulties. Working with GPs, nurses, and other health professionals, they provide coordinated care to ensure patients get the right treatment quickly.

Podiatry services include detailed assessments, custom shoe inserts, wound care, and rehab plans to improve movement and quality of life.

Please speak to our care navigation team to arrange an appointment for podiatry.

  • Microsuction

At Worcester City Primary Care Network, microsuction is performed by trained healthcare professionals in a clean and controlled environment. The procedure typically takes 10 to 15 minutes and does not require any sedation or recovery time.

Microsuction is suitable for patients experiencing symptoms such as hearing loss, earache, itching, or a feeling of fullness in the ear due to wax build-up.

Please speak to our care navigation team to arrange an appointment for microsuction.

Receptionists, Administrators & Secretaries

We employ a number of staff who perform various administrative tasks and reception duties. They work in the “engine room” at the medical centre and are the people with whom you first make contact, either on the telephone or when you visit the centre. When not assisting patients, these members of staff complete reports and referrals, handle documents and ensure that patient records are up-to-date.
